Info Clyde Aspevig is a plain-air landscape painter of enormous versatility and
vision. Aspevig paints sublime impressionistic vistas of western wilderness;
clouds, sky, and shimmering peaks, wild, flowing rivers and huge rock faces
half-eclipsed by shadow. Clyde Aspevig's artistic journey began close to this land and it is the pivot
around which his life revolves. Aspevig grew up on a farm 30 miles south of the
Canadian border. He recounts that growing up in the shadow of five mountain
ranges gave him "a sense of enormous space and the profoundness of the sky." While his work has earned him numerous awards and accolades, Clyde Aspevig
remains an artist who is true to his roots. "My goal is to reunite people with
the land," he writes.
